Richard John Albro, 73, Inverness, died suddenly at home on Apr. 24, 2010. Born in West Warwick, Rhode Island, and raised in West Greenwich, RI, he was born Nov 10, 1936, to the late John I. Albro, Jr. and Gertrude Gifford Albro and came to this area from California in 2006. He retired as a store manager for Sears after 34 years of service and served our country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Elks, Moose, Eagles, American Legion, and AMVETS and attended the Rutland Baptist Church.
He is survived by 4 children, Richard (Linda) Albro, Jr., Los Osos, CA; Dean (Karen) Albro, Lompoc, CA; Deborah (Donnie) Brown, Templeton, CA; Diana (Jim) Hammond, Santa Maria, CA; 1 brother, William (Tanya) Albro, West Greenwich, RI; 3 sisters, Doris Graska and Donna (Rex) Young, both of Inverness; Priscilla (Carmine) Fabbri, Cranston, RI; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; his Aunt, Mary Curls, Inverness; his Uncle, Howard (Doris) Gifford, Ft. Myers, FL; and his dear friend, and mother of his children, Shirley Bryant of Rockport, Texas.
Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, Apr. 28th, at 4:00 PM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Rev. William Johnson of the Rutland Baptist Church officiating. There will be calling hours at the funeral home from 3 pm until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials requested to the Jean Grant Scholarship Fund, 3600 So. Florida Av., Inverness, FL 34450.
