Saranac-Mary A. (Scheiern) Rudd, 92, of 6891 Ainsworth Road, Ionia, died late Friday at Ionia County Memorial Hospital.
Born in South Haven on May 28, 1900, she was the daughter of Clifford and Carrie Wright Terrel.
She was member of Berlin Center United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary of Saranac, and North Berlin Aid Society. She served as a Red Cross volunteer during World War 1, and was an accomplished pianist.
She was married to Wheeler Scheiern in 1919; he died in 1953.
She was married to Elgie (Jack) Rudd on Oct. 19, 1966; he survives.
Also surviving are a son, Harold W. Scheiern of Ionia; a stepson, Leon Rudd of Ionia; five daughters, Mary Klahn of Saranac, Ruth Ingraham of Portland, Janet Lower of Holland, Elsie Voorheis of Saranac, and Irma Smnith of Sheridan; three stepdaughters, Janice Shields, Joy Butcher, and Karen Morrow, all of Ionia; 36 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A son, Joseph, preceded her in death in 1987. A brother also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1p.m. from Berlin Center United Methodist Church, with Rev. Scott Otis officiating.
Burial will be in Saranac Cemetery.
The family will be at Lake Funeral Home Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 8 to 8:30 p.m.
A memorial for the Berlin Center United Methodist Church has been established, in care of the funeral home.
