He was a longtime member of Colonial Baptist Church in Memphis and was a GM retiree as an instructor at the GM Training Center. Mr. Adair taught auto mechanics at Jonesboro High School, in Jonesboro, AR., in the 1950's.
He was preceded in death by: his wife of 63 years, Beatrice Brown Adair; his son, John Adair Jr.; and his daughter, Betty Adair Turner Lenhardt.
He is survived by: his grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Drew and Nicole Turner, and two great-granddaughters of Olive Branch, Miss.; son-in-law, Albert Lenhardt of Memphis; his brother, Hubert Adair (Virginia) of Jonesboro; nephews, Jim Adair (Linda) and Ken Adair (June) of Jonesboro; sister-in-law, Marybeth Brown; niece, Sharon Lewis of Little Rock; and many grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
Committal services was held in Oaklawn Cemetery at Jonesboro. Arrangements were by Memorial Park Funeral Home.
