The 1920 census revealed Sadie Carter (18) and her sister, Sallie Carter (17) were boarders in the Percy Jackson household in Jefferson Ward, Richmond City, Henrico County, Virginia. They were both laborers for wages at the Tobacco

The 1931 & 1932 Hills Richmond Virginia City Directory revealed John W. Trent was a helper at the Richmond Engineering Co. He and Sadie C. lived at 723 N 22nd Street.

The 1936 - 1938 Hills Richmond Virginia City Directory revealed John W. Trent was a welder at the Richmond Engineering Co. He and Sadie C. lived at 2121
Pleasant Street.

The 1940 Hills Richmond Virginia City Directory revealed John W. Trent was a welder at the Richmond Engineering Co. He and Sadie lived at 724 N 23rd Street.

The 1940 census revealed John was a salary worker as a tank builder at a tank manufacturer, worked 52 weeks and earned $1196 in 1939. They rented their house for $13 per month on Short 23rd Street in the same place as in 1935. Sadie had a fifth grade education. Household members: John W. Trent (36), Sadie F. (38), Edward W. (4) and Lewis E. (8/12).

The 1943 & 1944 Hills Richmond Virginia City Directory revealed John W. Trent was a welder at the Capital City Iron Works. He and Sadie S. rented at 1807 N 21st Street.

The 1959 Hills Richmond Virginia City Directory revealed John W. Trent was a welder at the Richmond Steel Co. He and Sadie lived at RD 11, Box 348 (CCo).
