Funeral services for Will R. Burt, retired farmer and member of a pioneer Coryell County family, were held at 4 pm Friday at the graveside in Greenbriar Cemetery. Rev. Royce Christmas officiated with Scott's in charge.

Mr. Burt, 90, died last Thursday, July 7, in the local hospital. Most of his life he lived near Greenbriar Creek, east of Gatesville. He resided in Hamilton County for two years.

Born near Gatesville, Dec. 1, 1875, he was a son of R. C. Burt & M. E. Duncan, early day settlers in this area. He married Miss LauraMay Leamons on August 23, 1897. He was a member of the Mountain Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Laura May of Gatesville; three sons, Quince Burt, Ray Burt, and R. W. Burt, all of Gatesville; four daughters, Mrs R. P. Blaze of Hewitt, Mrs. Lowell Lofland of McGregor, Mrs. Roy L. Gray of Waco and Mrs. Henry Steinhauser of Belton; a brother, Lew Burt of Gatesville; 28 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Pallbearers for Mr. Burt's funeral were Joe Vandiver, Billy Burt, Vernon Bailey Barton, Bob Barton, Wade Tatum and Billy Ray Steinhauser.
