ROSWELL (Special) - The funeral services for Mrs. Della B. Cottier were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the Sterry Memorial church in Roswell with the Rev. David Gastler in charge. Interment was made in the Roswell cemetery.
Mrs. Della B. Cottier was born in New York City February 24, 1857, and died at the home of her son, Claud, in Roswell, Thursday afternoon, April 27, 1933. The early years of her life were spent in New York City with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Van Buren, until a disastrous fire wiped out Mr. Van Buren's interest in a very lucrative livery business, when with his wife and four daughters he moved to Ellington, Minn., and took up a homestead.
On July 23, 1874, at the age of 17 she was married to James B. Cottier at Owatonna, Minn. After some years there they moved to St. Paul where her husband later died. Two children were left with her. Claud now of Roswell and Maud how of Seattle. The latter years of Mrs. Cottier's life were spent at the home of her daughter in Seattle. She came to the home of her son in Roswell in November, 1931, where she stayed until the time of her death.
