Garlington Coker Baker, 68, died May 12, 2004 in Wellington, Texas. Garlington was a resident of Wellington, he was born October 10, 1935 in Childress, TX., to Martina (Palmer) and Woodrow Wilson Baker. G.C. attended school at Quail School. He helped his father on the farm until he entered the United States Air Force and was stationed at Randolph AFB. G.C. worked for Ford Motor Company as a mechanic for several years and also worked for the Collingsworth County Road Department for 12 years. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents,1 daughter, LaDana Sue Baker and 1 brother, Lynn Harlan Baker. He was survived by his stepmother, Gladys Green of Wellington Texas; three daughters, Rosa Shropshire of Newcastle; Tawanna Kennedy of Higgins, Texas; Ronda duntz of Ellinwood, Kansas; one son, Randie Baker of Syracuse, Kansas; 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; one brother,Tommy Baker of Wellington, Texas; two sisters, Nivea Gay Bradshaw of Odessa, Texas; and Eula Faye Edwards of Bonham, Texas; and a host of relatives and friends.
Graveside Services will be held May 16, 2004 at 3 p.m. at Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of People's Cooperative Funeral Home in Lone Wolf. Altus Times- Altus, Oklahoma
