Harry was the son of Dr. Ebenezer Pyle and Ellen Eliason Austin with siblings: Mary, Lucretia, Nancy, Credoral, Isaac, Pelegan, and Josephine. He married Mary Douglass on 13 March 1873 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. A grocer, he died from pneumonia at age 40.
