The funeral service for Ora Louise Rusch, 81, was held Wednesday, December 29, 1999 in the Homestead Bible Church, with Rev. Travis Hopper Officiating. Interment followed at Homestead Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Mortuary, Okeene.
Ora was born July 18, 1918, in Hominy, Oklahoma, to Bert and Virginia (Harmon)Cramer. She passed away Sunday, December 26, 1999, at the Vici Nursing Home.
After the family moved from Hominy, Ora spent her early years in the Longdale area, where she met her husband, Abraham Rusch. The couple was married on May 11, 1938, in Taloga, Oklahoma. To this union four children were born. Abe and Ora were married 55 years when he passed away on October 17, 1993.
Before moving to Homestead in 1973, the couple lived in Woodward and Liberal, Kansas. Ora was a homemaker who enjoyed yard work, canning,raising chickens, playing bingo and being with her family. She attended the Homestead Bible Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband,Abraham; two brothers, Jim and Frank Cramer; six sisters; Margaret Madewell, Mae Sumpter, Rosie Emmons, Ruby Hays, Lucille Harmon, and Helen Stout; one son, Abie(Curly) Rusch and grandson Mitchell Howard and one great-grandson Johnny Shea.
Survivors include three children; Shirley Tauer and her husband Richard of Wichita Kansas. Marvin (Bud)Rusch and his wife, Linda, of Woodward, and Ronnie Rusch, and his wife, Lonnie, Of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Ed Cramer of Amarillo, Texas and a twin brother, Oren (Mitch)Cramer of Wheatland; three sister-in-laws, Mollie Bouse and Anna Thornton of Okeene and Mary Ramey of Hennessey; two brother-in-laws, Adam Rusch of Okeene and Dave Schaffer of Fairview, 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
