His obituary indicated he was a member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church (Easley, SC)
and was a retired animal control officer for
the city of Easley.
At the time of his death he was survived by four daughters and two sons; sisters, Mrs. Dovie Gilstrap and Mrs. Nora Cantrell, both
of Easley; Mrs. Lillie Bryant and Mrs. Geneva Glouse, both of Liberty; two brothers, Albert Gilstrap of Greenville and Wilson Gilstrap of Liberty; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grand
children, and two great-great grandchildren.
His funeral service was held on Thursday,
May 26, 1988 at Jones Avenue Baptist
Church, officiated by two local pastors.
Burial: West View Cemetery, Liberty.
