Mrs. Thure Fransen
Mrs. Alice V. Fransen, 65, of 245 Fulton St., died at 2 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 1, 1965) in Jamestown General Hospital.
She was born Feb. 24, 1900 in Brookston, Pa. and came to Jamestown about 45 years ago. She formerly resided in Sheffield, Pa.
Mrs. Fransen was a confirmand at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Sheffield and a member of the Diana Lodge, Independent Order of Vikings.
Surviving are her husband, Thure Fransen; three sons, Robert F. Raines, Jamestown; John E. Raines, Erie, Pa.; and Donald E. Raines, Bemus Point; four granddaughters and three grandsons; four sisters, Mrs. Hilda A. Carlson, Jamestown; Mrs. Myrtle Lindsey, Erie; Mrs. Isabell Mauk, Sheffield; Mrs. Doris Lantz, Fern Creek, Ky.; three brothers, Lawrence C. Johnson, Jamestown; Everett F. Johnson, Clarence Johnson, both of Sheffield; several nieces and nephews. Two brothers preceded her in death.
Also surviving are three stepsons, Roy A. Fransen, Lakeland, Fla.; Chester A. Fransen, Jamestown; Raymond Fransen, Lakewood; five step daughters, Mrs. Ellen Holmberg, Bemus Point; Mrs. Clara Morten, Jamestown; Mrs. Violet Moeler, Sinclairville; Mrs. Pauline Kramer, Chesapeake, Va., and Mrs. Marion Sandstrom, Maple Springs; 31 stepgrandchildren and six stepgreatgrandchildren.
Services will be in the Powers Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Dr. Paul A. Westerberg, pastor of First Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
