The 1930 census they owned their home and farm. It was located on Mountain Valley Road in District 4, Grainger, Tennessee.
On June 17, 1930 Ella gave birth to a little girl that the named Dorsia. The only record of Dorsia is a memorial that a volunteer put on Find a Grave, with a note that she is the daughter of Henry and Ella Scearce. She died on June 11, 1935. There is no document available at this time to reveal the cause of her demise. She was buried in the Scearce Cemetery, Thorn Hill, Grainger County, Tennessee.
On April 8,1939 Little Betty Jo was born.
Tennessee, Death Records, confirm that Betty Jo Scearce passed away on Oct. 24,1939 of Bronchial pneumonia in Thorn Hill, Grainger, Tennessee. The certificate said that she had been born with a cleft palate. She, also, was buried in the Scearce Cemetery.
No census for 1940 was found for Henry or Ella.
U.S., Social Security Death Index, revealed that Henry Scearce, a resident of Thorn Hill, Grainger, Tennessee, died on Nov.3, 1973 at the age of 71 years. Sadly, Ella gathered her family and friends to be present at his burial to bid her dearly beloved Henry farewell.
U.S., Social Security Death Index, confirmed that Ella Scearce's last address was Knoxville, Knox, Tennessee, she was born 5 Jan 1901 and died on April 18, 1984 She is buried next to her beloved Henry, where they are "Resting in Peace" (bio by Audrey DeCamp Hoffman)
