Calvin E. Brown, 77, of Marion, died Oct. 9, 2003, at Livingston Hospital. He was a member of Seven Springs Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge Liberty #580, and served in the Army and is a veteran of WWII.

Surviving are his wife, Clara Guess Brown of Marion; one son, Jerald Brown of Portage, Ind.; two grandsons, Jerry Brown and Brian Brown, all of Hobart, Ind. and one great-grandson, Troy Brown of Hobart.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Brown; a brother, Carl Brown; a sister, Catherine Penn; and his parents, Wylie and Linnie Travis Brown.

Funeral services were held Oct. 12 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Howton and Rev. Don Guess officiating. Burial was in Asbridge Cemetery.
