She married Charles Beutell on April 24, 1942, and together they raised their family in what is now Burbank before eventually moving to Machesney Park. Although Florence held many different jobs while raising her family, in retirement she found her real passion - genealogy. She served as a volunteer librarian at the Mormon library in Rockford for 30 years.
She is survived by her children, William (Louise) Beutell of Michigan, Barbara (George) Rogers of Crystal Lake, Candace (Richard) Gardner of Michigan; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Beutell of Wheaton; grandchildren, John and Mary Beutell, Geoffrey Rogers and Kathleen Rogers Krystal, Kimberley Neister, Paul Beutell and Katherine Beutell Yee; six great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Shields Pote; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles; her son, Paul; and her brother, Harry.
A requiem Mass and memorial service will be at 10:30am Saturday, May 1, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford, Loves Park, with interment in Sunset Gardens.
