FREMONT COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT,
20 years ago today, on April 30, 1995, Fremont County Deputy Sheriff Steve Crerar was killed in the line of duty by a juvenile prisoner. The prisoner attacked LT. Crerar, took his firearm, and in the ensuing struggle the prisoner shot and killed Steve.

Let's not forget Steve and his devotion to the citizens of our county and this profession.

Take time on this sad anniversary to remember all of the fallen officers across this country who were killed in the line of duty while protecting others.

Please join the Fremont County Sheriff's Office in remembering Lt. Crerar and honoring his family by wearing a black badge cover today.

PLEASE BE SAFE OUT THERE.

Lieutenant Crerar was fatally shot in the head with his own gun by a 16-year-old juvenile from the Wyoming Boys School. Lieutenant Crerar had volunteered to pick up the runaway and had just transported him 300 miles back to custody.
