PASS CHRISTIAN -- Floyd E. Bishop, 80, of Pass Christian, died December 2, 1998.
Mr. Bishop was born January 21, 1918, in Birmingham, Alabama. Mr. Bishop was a lifelong resident of Pass Christian and was a 1936 graduate of Pass Christian High School. He was retired from Keesler Air Force Base. He owned and operated Bishop's Package Goods Store in Gulfport for 10 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Farrell Bishop; and his parents, Vernice Murphy Bishop and Floyd E. Bishop; two brothers, Gordon E. Bishop and John A. Bishop.
Surviving Mr. Bishop are his seven sons, Floyd F. Bishop of Long Beach, Harry R. Bishop of Gulfport, Robert C. Bishop of Pass Christian, Patrick C. Bishop, Tim Bishop and Thomas O. Bishop, all of Long Beach, and James M. Bishop of Gulfport; three daughters, Sally Bishop James, Susan Bishop Burnett and Jeanie Bishop McDermott, all of Pass Christian; six daughters-in-law; two sons-in-law; 22 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul Michael and Isabelle Bishop of Long Beach; and a sister-in-law, Gerry Bishop of Pass Christian.
The funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 5th at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Pass Christian where friends may call after 1 p.m. Burial will be in Live Oak Cemetery in Pass Christian.
The family requests donations in Mr. Bishop's memory to Memorial Hospice, P.O. Box 1810, Gulfport, MS 39502. Riemann Funeral Home in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
