George Searls
ENO - George Searls, 89, of Eno, a Spanish American War veteran, a retired Eno Blacksmith and one of the last to practice the trade in this village, died Friday at 7:45 p.m. in Meigs General Hospital.
Born in Kygerville, Gallia County, he was a son of the late Levi and Christina DeVault Searls. His wife, Bernice Rupe Searls, died Jan. 5, 1966.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Shirley Harrington, Gallipolis, Mrs. Mary Freeman and Mrs. Glenna Daniels, Columbus, and Mrs. Ona Kemper, Eno.
He was a member of the Methodist Church in Columbus, where he resided at one time with a daughter.
Services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home in Vinton. Burial will be in Robinson Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon and evening.
