Correction Jan. 2013: Hi. I was strolling through my hometown cemetery records when I came across Miss Violett Russell's memorial. She was my first-grade teacher at Orchards Elementary & died the summer after I was in third grade. It is a long time since she & "Dick & Jane" taught me to read! I remember her headstone very well as thirteen years after first grade my grandfather was buried very near to her. I am suggesting a correction on your family links. G Leona is her sister not her spouse. I looked up on Ancestry.com to verify. Leona & Violett are sisters who both never married & who were both teachers. I believe a new headstone was placed after Leona died as the original stone had only Violett's name on it. Thanks. June
