She was the oldest of five children born to Raymond Arthur FLETCHER and Mary Barbara HOPPERDIETZEL. She was born and raised in Stevens Point, WI.
She married Peter Paul KONOPACKY on January 4th, 1949 in Covington, Boone Co., KY.
Jean was the mother of Phillip P., Stephen A., Mark S. and Nancy Jean KONOPACKY.
Jean was a wonderful mother and woman who departed this life much too soon due to leukemia. She is greatly missed by her children and her grandchildren, John, Monica, Kevin, Ashleigh, Steven, Courtney, Quinn, Hylary, Ryan, Stuart, Justin and Kaylee, also seven great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Pete, sisters Harriet Fritsch and Rae Ellen Lyons, and her brothers John "Jack" and Richard J. Fletcher.
Jean worked as an Immigration Agent at the San Diego/Mexico border for many years. Rest well Jean, we will all be reunited one day.

Jean Konopacky, 53, Spring Valley, CA, a former Stevens Point resident, died recently at a California hospital.
Mrs. Konopacky was born Sept. 25, 1928, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond A. Fletcher. She graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1946.
She married Peter Konopacky, a former Stevens Point resident, and the couple moved to San Diego, CA, in 1956. She was a contact representative for the Immigration and Naturalization Service at San Ysidro for 15 years until she became ill in June.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Philip and Stephen of San Diego, and Mark of Kent, WA; one daughter, Nancy Lee, Spring Valley; two brothers, jack Fletcher, Chicago, and Richard, Montgomery, AL; two sisters, Harriet Fritsch, La Crosse, and Rae Ellen Lyons, Portland OR; and 12 grandchildren.
Memorial services were held in California.
