Mrs. Jane Owens, a well-known and highly esteemed woman of Steele Creek township, died Sunday night at her home there after an illness of three or four weeks. Death resulted from the decrepitude of advanced years. She had attained the age of 84. A large family of children, grand-children and great-grandchildren survives. She had a wide connection throughout the county. Rev. W. A. Cleveland, pastor of the Steele Creek church, conducted the funeral service there Monday morning at 11 o'clock. Mrs. Owens was widow of the late William Owens, who died a number of years ago.
