Francis E. Oberer, age 72 years, died July 15, 2006 at his home in LeRoy. He was born July 12, 1934 in Oakfield, NY to Francis and Ellen Oberer. He was co-owner of the Country Enterprise Tent Rental in LeRoy. He was a 50-year member of the Bergen Grange, 32 Degree Mason, Secretary of the Caledonia Masonic Lodge #830 F&AM. He was also a member of the Damascus Shrine (Perry); Past Grand Director of Ceremonies, and Past Patron and Grand Officer of the Order of the Easter Star. He was also a retired police officer with the Wheatland Police Department; a lifetime member of the Mumford Fire Department, and a member of the First Baptist Church of LeRoy.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years Sandra Scott Oberer; children, Michael (Anita) Oberer, Andrew (Mary) Hodge, Amanda (Alan) Murray, Thomas Hodge, Francis Oberer, Darlene Hennessey, David Oberer; brother James (Nancy) Oberer; and many loving grandchildren.

Calling hours were held Tuesday, July 18, 2006 from 3-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia. His Memorial Service including a Masonic and Easter Star Service was held Wednesday, July 19 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in LeRoy. Reverend Peter McCudy officiated the service. Interment Machpelah Cemetery, LeRoy.
