Richard L. Bacon, 59, of Glastonbury, beloved husband and best friend of Patricia (Brennan) Bacon, died Friday (April 23, 2010) at Hartford Hospital.

Born October 25, 1950 in New Britain, son of the late Leslie and Adeline (Bentley) Bacon, he had lived in Glastonbury for the past thirty years.

Prior to his retirement in May of 2009, he was an Information Technician at the Labor Department for the State of Connecticut.

Richard graduated from New Britain High School and the University of Colorado. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, history, was involved with his son's activities, had a great sense of humor but most important was his wife and two sons, they were his life.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his beloved boys who were the light of his life; Matthew B. Bacon and his girl friend Amanda Selig both of Farmington, Timothy Richard Bacon of Ft. Carson, CO. currently serving in Iraq, two sisters and brothers-in-law Beverly and Bob Huber of Southington, Nancy and Paul Couzelis of Norwalk, his mother-in-law Estelle Brennan of Glastonbury, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Church of Christ, Congregational, 2183 Main Street, Glastonbury with the Rev. Ruth Martz officiating.
Burial will be private in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
Friends may call at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury, on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
