My Mother and Dad were married on October 14, 1944 in Artesia, New Mexico. She and my dad had three children: Bedford, Billy and Jacqueline Sue (Susie). They remained married for thirty-four years and were later divorced. She was very dear to me and sacrificed a lot during the years when we children were growing up. My sister was born mentally retarded and my Mother kept her at home all of those years. It was only after my Mother passed away that my sister was placed in a group home. She was very dear to me and her passing is something that I have never gotten over even though it has been several years. My Mother was born to William Luther Talley (Deceased) and Pearl Oneida (Bussell) Talley (Deceased). She had two brothers R.L. Talley (Deceased)and Glenn B. Talley (Deceased). She had two sisters Virgie Jewel(Talley)Purcella (Deceased) and Lou Ella (Talley) DeMars (Deceased).Dearest Mama:
~ I am writing just a few lines to commemorate your life here on Earth. I have not anything to offer you but a son's love.~
~ To me, I believe it is fitting and justified that I write these few lines out of honor to you, and to show respect for you as my mother. I shall consider these few lines as a memorial in memory of all things that I remember about you, as your son.~
~ To me, it is much more fitting to write these few lines to you, out of honor and respect than to merely state irrelevant facts about you, as it is a much more personal eulogy than to merely state when and where you died and from what you died. I feel that you should be written about with respect and honor rather than facts.~
~ I would also like to take this time to mention that you were a gifted Craftsman and Seamstress, a wonderful and trusting wife to my daddy, and a stern, yet loyal and supportive mother to me.~
~ I have a fond memory of you enjoying country-music, and that you literally had 100's of recorded records of your favorite country artists in your vast collection of country music.~
~ In my mind, I can still see you sitting on the bank of a large body of water catching cat-fish one after the other until the days end.~
~ I also can remember that you were tragically a prisoner in your own home due to the fact that the last several years of your life were medically debilitating, causing you to be house-bound.~
~ In earlier years, I remember your joy as you shopped at Five and Dime stores (nowadays these are known as Dollar Stores), as well as remembering in later years your joy in shopping from catalogues such as Fingerhut.~
~ I remember that you loved the Holidays, especially preparing the Holiday meals:turkey, duck, goose, dressing, pies, cakes, and all the other trimmings; and at Christmas time I can remember all the home-made candies you made, and I am positively sure that the major American candy maker (Brachs) had nothing over on you when it came to making candy.~
~ I can still smell those golden-brown biscuits that you used to make and bake, when you pulled them fresh and hot from the oven. The family always enjoyed your delicious biscuits fresh and hot at every home cooked meal.~
~ It seems to me that these are the things I sometimes miss the most about you after your passing. It also is sad to me that most of a child's achievements are usually attained after the passing of his or her parents.~
~ My achievements and successes to date are unknown to you, and for me to know this puts a lump in my throat and a pain in my heart, my dear mother.~
~ My mama and daddy were married almost fourty-years, and from this union were born three children,(two sons and one daughter).~
~ My mama has many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren that she loved very much, and always was willing to go an extra mile for them in order to help them in any way that she could. Mama you will always be loved and missed so very much by the ones that you loved so very much.~
~ My mama did not like to be called by her first name, nor did she use or sign her first name, also I as her son did not know my mother's first name until I was a grown man. My mother's first name is Willie.~
~ Cause of Death: cardiac arrest, due to complications brought about by (COPD) Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.~
