Helen Alice Seamark was the oldest daughter of William Seamark and Georgina Blundell. Born in Cheboygan, she was named after her paternal grandmother Helen Dusenbury (who died in her early twenties) and her step grandmother Alice Davies (who cared for her father William while growing up)

Helen died at just 15 years old from Tuberculosis while her family lived in Manistique. Although originally buried there, her family had her moved down to White Chapel cemetery, closer to where they had eventually moved and next to where her parents were to be buried.
