On a winter path, in a quiet suburban neighbourhood, on Monday, February 2, 2009, the life of a precious daughter, sister and friend of Nadia Lynn Gehl, as a result of a gun shooting, was taken.

Nadia was employed as a veterinary technician and assistant manager.

She was a great lover of animals and people.

Nadia was in her 29th year. Her husband was, Ron Cyr of Kitchener. Her special pets, were her dog, Raina and Azzie, Gracie, B.J. and Nala her cats.

Beloved daughter of Nicholas and Patricia Gehl; brothers, Nick Gehl (Shawna) and Dan Gehl and sister, Paulette (Aengus) of Kitchener.

Dear daughter-in-law of Marcel and Angela Cyr of Kitchener and brother-in-law, Rolland (Lisa) Cyr and her niece and nephew, Bekah and Riley.

Nadia will be missed by her grandmothers, Rose Gehl and Madeline Weber; her many uncles and aunts, Stephen Gehl (Debbie), Nancy Gehl (Owen), and Kathleen Runstedler, Glen Weber (Lyn), Keith Weber, Lynette (Dave) Sidle, Judy (Ed) Bernard, Heidi (Randy) Felheber, Brad (Pat) Weber, Ken (Hope) Kuntz and Dave (Anita) Pitschner.

The family received friends and relatives at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel , 51 Benton at Church St., Kitchener on Sunday, February 8, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral and committal service were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church (Bridgeport and Lancaster St., Kitchener) on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dale Finch officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Animal Hospital of Kitchener Waterloo would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Her husband, Ron Cyr, and his two friends have been arrested in connection with her murder.
