Ernest Marlind Tate, 68, of Clarksville died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

He was retired from the U. S. Marine Corps, served in Vietnam, former employee of Gulf Oil and U-Haul Company of Arkansas, was the developer of Shadow Valley Subdivision, a Baptist, son of the late Ermal and Estelle Davis Tate, and was preceded in death by one son, David Tate; one great-grandchild, Colton Krumdick; one brother, Archie Tate; and two half-brothers, Howard Blakenship and Paul Blakenship.

Survivors include his widow, Betty Louise Tate; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Greg Krumdick of Clarksville; two sons, Ernie Joe Tate and Michael Tate, both of Clarksville; four brothers, Lonnie Tate of Clarksville, Edward Tate of Fayetteville, Gerald Tate of Rogers, and Malcolm Tate of Ozark; four grandsons, Jeremy and Jason Krumdick of Clarksville and Lucas and Joey Tate of Dover; one granddaughter, Freedom Tate; and one great-grandchild, Devan Tate.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lonnie Tate, Edward Tate, Cully Tate, Douglas Tate, Gerald Tate, Malcolm Tate, Terry Tate, and Curtis Easter.
