Virginia married Robert Hagge. She later married Lloyd Mether on April 18, 1975 in Rock Island; Rock Island County, Illinois. Virginia was employed with J.C. Penney, International Paper and later with Airco. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Fulton; Whiteside County, Illinois. Virginia enjoyed snowmobiling, painting, crocheting and traveling.

(Anthony) McNamara of Boulder, Colorado, Jeanann R. (James) Bailey of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Marcia G. (Terry) Gertson of Putnam Station, New York and Sharon (James) Peart of Clinton, Iowa; four step children, Bryon (Sue) Mether of Peoria, IL, Linda (Dean) Martin of Maquoketa, Iowa; Gordon (Tari) Mether of Naples, Florida and Bart Mether of Plover, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Sam, Jaclyne and Diane; two great grandsons; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren and a sister, Genevieve Petersen of Clinton. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Frank and a sister Catherine. May they rest in peace.
