Klaara visited her sister Albertina Salo in New York on 12 Nov 1911.

According to the S.S. Caronia's Ship Manifeset, Clara's ship left Liverpool, England on 4 Nov 1911 and arrived in New York on 11 Nov 1911, which was her final destination. The Ships Manifests also listed her occupation as a servant and that she could read and write. It also says that she was born in Teuvalla and at the time of travel she was 19 years old.

Her sister who lived on South Ave, Mariner's Harbor in New York, paid for her ticket to come to New York and in her possession she only had $25 on her person.

Also noted in the Ships manifest was that she was 5'4", fair complexion, Brown Hair, Blue Eyes and was not a polygamist or an anarchist.

Clara then at the age of 33 and single,immigrated to Canada on the S.S. Stavangerfjord when it left Oslo, Norway on the 28 May 1926 and it arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia on 6 June 1926.

This Ships manifest lists her birth location as Pediala, Finland.

Occupation in Finland prior to arriving in Canada was a cook and her intended occupation in Canada was to become a cook.

The relative she listed when entering Canada was her cousin Vester Salo who lived on 81 Maple Street, Timmins, Ontario, Canada.

In Finland she left her mother Albertina Salo and father Juho Itäluoma in Pediala, Finland and.

It is believed that Clara did have one son Hugo Eskelin born 1832. A ship manifest was discovered in the Finnish and English Records. This is what was in the Finnish Records:

Hugo and Clara Eskelin left Finland for Montreal 4.8.1737 and from England 12.8.1937 Clara was then 44 years old and Hugo 5 years old
