Mr. Girod died Thursday, August 23rd, in a Vidalia hospital after a short illness.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Girod of Vidalia; 2 sons, Billy Ray Girod, Vixen; Bobby Girod, Clarks; three brothers, Aubrey Girod, Millard Girod and Arthur Spikes, Jr., all of Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. Belle Poole, Columbia; Mrs. Virginia Ward, West Monroe; four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mr. Sherwood Poole, Mr. Jack Brown, Mr. G. J. Sanders, Slim Hodges, Doug Crockett and Luther Noland Howard.
Mr. Verley Carr sang two songs.
Interment was in Welcome Home Cemetery, Grayson.
