Graveside services for Velma E. Scott Benton, 84, El Paso, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler with the Rev. Sherman Mayfield officiating under direction of Burks
Walker Tippit Funeral Home. Mrs. Benton died March 3, in El Paso.
She was born July 19, 1923 in Jamestown La. to the late Carlton Neil and Lilla Wiggins Boddie. She was retired, having been a bookkeeper and LVN and was a Methodist. Mrs. Benton was preceded in death by two husbands, Mitchell DeWitt Scott Sr. and John Benton. Survivors include son, Mitchell Scoot Jr., South Carolina; daughters, Susan M.
Gilbert, Brazil and Nancy S. Scott, San Antonio; three grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
