Robert Lamb

Robert Lamb, well known Fulton resident, died Wednesday at Van Ayer Manor in Martin, Tennessee, where he lived after his health began to fail several years ago.

A former resident of 300 Third Street, Mr. Lamb was born in Weakley County on November 26, 1895, the son of the late Giles Jefferson and Elizabeth Midgett Lamb.

He was an active member of First United Methodist Church, where he held a 44 – year perfect attendance record in Sunday School. He was a member of the Morman B. Daniel Class. Mr. Lamb was also active in the Marshall Alexander American Legion Post 72, having served for some time as Post Chaplain. He was a veteran of World War I, in which he fought with the U.S. Army.

He was a retired rural mail carrier.

Mr. Lamb's wife Clara, preceded him in death in 1969. He later married Irene Stacks, who died in 1978.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Mrs. Ray Omar; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; two sisters, Mrs. Buel Warren and Mrs. Emmett Caldwell of Fulton; and a brother, Rev. Wayne Lamb of Memphis, Tennessee, former Paris District Superintendent.

A step-daughter, Mrs. Hazel Williams, preceded him in death.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gordon Henderson officiating. Interment will be in Palestine Cemetery.
