Lexington, TN - Lloyd Carl Melton, 94, retired funeral director and embalmer at Pafford Funeral Home, died of heart failure Saturday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pafford Funeral Home with burial in Henderson County Memory Gardens.
He was a member of the Broad Street Church of Christ and a past member of the Lexington Lions Club. In 1939, he served in the House of Representatives. In 1943, 1945, and 1947, he was a journal clerk. In 1949, he was assistant chief and clerk for the House of Representatives. He also was past circuit court clerk of Chester County.
Mr. Melton, the husband of Ruby Davidson Melton, also leaves a daughter, Betty Ann Carrington of Wasilla, Alaska; a son, Don Melton of Lexington; a sister, Loraine Orr of Jackson, and a grandchild.
