Katherine was the eldest of three children. She was born about 17 Sep 1842 based on her gravestone {23 yrs, 3 mos, 2 days w/o GW) and date of death of 19 Dec 1865. Death date is specified in a deposition signed by GW Bowen, her husband, in 1881, for the purpose of claiming a veterans pension from his civil war injury.

Also per the deposition, which is in GW Bowen's bio on findagrave, they were married in Aug 1862.
