Elizabeth Jane Clark was the
daughter of A.W. Clark and
Sarah B. Clark.

Her father, Anthony W. Clark
was born in Tennessee. It is
believed that his father was
born in England. Her mother's
name was Sarah, but her maiden
name isn't known by this
family researcher. It's still being
searched, Sarah was born in
Tennessee.
Benjamin and 'Jane' lived
next door to her parents in
Arkansas, Crooked Creek Township.
Their daughter was 6 months old
at that time, this was in 1860.

Elizabeth 'Jane' was married to Benjamin
J. Long, son of Maples Long
and Mahala 'Atchley' Long.

The couple were married in Arkansas
and they were the parents of one child,
a daughter, Mary Ellen Long. Mary
Ellen married Thomas G. Moss.

New found records show Elizabeth
'Jane' had separated from Benjamin.
He served in the Union during the
Civil War, her family was for
the Conferdercy. She had left
him and moved back in w/her
parents. Later, she tried to
collect Benjamin's pension,
however, Benjamin's brother
& other's wrote to the Military
stating the fact she had left
Benjamin and she did not deserve
to get his pension and she was
denied ever getting his pension.
Long family members have copies
of the letters.
At this time it's not known
if they were ever divorced?

The records show that Elizabeth Jane
and her daughter, Mary Ellen went
to live with her parents in Harrison,
Arkansas. Elizabeth never remarried.
They appear in the census in her
parents household. After her daughter,
Mary Ellen married Thomas Moss, she
always lived with them.

In the 1910 Census in Arkansas,
Harrison, Boone County, Elizabeth
is listed in the household of her
son-in-law, Thomas Moss. In this
census, his son, Leslie and
a daughter Mary Ellen. It also list
his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Long,
age 73. Mary Ellen, his wife, and
the only child of Elizabeth and
Benjamin had died at this time.
After Mary Ellen's death, Elizabeth
continued to live with Thomas and
her grandchildren. Later, Thomas
remarried and moved to Colorado.
In the census, Elizabeth is still
listed in his household. Research
is being done, but now it's reported
she died and is buried in Colorado.
It will be corrected as soon as
possible.
