Elaine Moon, 95, of Sheridan died Monday, April 26, 2010, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be private.

Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with arrangements by Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Born Nov. 30, 1914, in Hanna to Albert and Norah (Bowkett) Woodhead, she grew up in the Dietz-Kleenburn-Monarch area and attended school in Sheridan.

She married Jessie Clair Moon on Feb. 24, 1934, in Sheridan. She worked as a clerk at Safeway, Boyd's and later as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Eventide.

Mrs. Moon was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and Women's Guild. She enjoyed cooking, baking and many years of making breads, cakes and assorted recipes for her family and friends. She especially enjoyed camping and fishing trips with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son, Richard; and siblings Bill, Agnes and Annie.

Survivors include one son, David; three daughters, Norah, Carol and Judi; one sister, Edie; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may benefit St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 1 S. Tschirgi St., Sheridan WY 82801.
