Obit: Rev. John Terry Abernathy, 78, of Lawrenceville died Monday, April 18,l994. He was a native of Bartow County, was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army,and retired from Southeastern Elevator Co. in Atlanta. He served as pastor of the Five Forks Baptist Church, Lawrenceville, and Alcove Baptist Church, Scottsdale, serving in the ministry for 43 years and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church, Lawrenceville. Survivors are wife, Elease Browning Abernathy; son, Wesley Abernathy; and daughter Phyllis Mills; five grandchildren; sisters, Matilda Morris and Helen Casey; and other relatives. Funeral was held Wednesday at chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Rolland Jackson officiating. Graveside service at Peachtree Road Baptish Cemetery with Rev. Randall Flanigan officiating.
