He was born Sept. 6, 1915, in Buena Vista, Va.
He was a former member of First Church of Christ in Painesville and member of Community Christian Church in Painesville. He was active in mission work, especially in India, held board offices at church, taught Sunday School for several years and was greatly loved and respected by his family and friends. He was known as "Poppa Gus," to his children.
Mr. Slough retired in 1980 from Coe Mfg. in Painesville as a time keeper.
Survivors are his wife, Sylvia (Vosicky); children, Frank Sr. (Sue) Vosicky of Fairport Harbor, Francee (Tim) Morse of Perry, and Fay Vosicky of Rock Creek; grandchildren, Tim Jr. (Deborah) Morse of Perry, Trish McConnell of Perry, Tara (Scott) Mayer of Michigan, Chip (Laurie) Vosicky, John (Eleni) Vosicky, Michael McGeehan, and Erin McGeehan; great-grandchildren, Katharine Morse, Kristen Morse, Hunte McConnell and Alivia McConnell; niece Juanita (Bobby) Wheeler of Virginia; and nephew, Dean Slough of Virginia.
His first wife, Emma (Molyneux) Slough, died in 1976. His brothers, Ralph and Wallace; and sister, Marie White, are also deceased.
