Susannah Eccles was the youngest daughter of Allen Eccles and Nancy Ann Gilliland. Her family moved from Kansas to Minnesota about 1900. Soon after in 1902, she became Guy Homer Brown, Sr.'s second wife. Guy and Susannah had 5 known children: George William, named after his paternal grandfather; Allen, named after his maternal grandfather; Pansy; Guy Homer, Jr., and Violet.
