Ephraim Milton served in the military during the Civil War as a wagoneer from 1860-1865. He served in Company A 1st Regiment NE Vol. Cav. His tombstone reads "A noble husband, father, patriot, & citizen at rest.
He also helped his father farm. Ephraim Milton Long married Mary Watson who was born in Scotland. They had three daughters. Mary went back to Fredricksburg, MD after Ephraim's death.
