She was born February 29, 1904, at Fairmont, the daughter of Nicholas and Margaret Lutz.
Her first husband, Harvey Perkins and a son, Max, 11 died in a fire October 26, 1936, that destroyed the family home near Fairmont. Mrs. Perkins and six other children escaped the flames.
Mrs. Perkins and Mr. Barker were married August 24, 1943. Mr. Barker died in 1959.
Suriving are five daughters, Marjorie Eaton of Englewood, Col., Charlotte Johnson and Donna Isaacs of Denver, Col., Norma Laschanzky of LIncoln, Betty Durham of Utica, S.D., and one son, Dean of Fairmont; three step-children, Ronald Barker of El Monte, Cal., Hazel Stith of Lincoln and Evelyn Real of Fairmont; 30 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six sisters, Elizabeth Plock, Mary Arbuck, Lena Wulbrandt and Caroline Keil, all of Fairmont; Anna Biven of McCool and Emma Kyatt of Kimball; four brothers, Nicholas Lutz of Lincoln, John and Henry Lutz of McCool and Jacob Lutz of Fairmont.
Mrs. Barker was a member of the McCool Methodist Church and of the Royal Neighbor and Rebekah lodges.
Funeral services were Wednesday, September 16, at 2 p.m. at the McCool Methodist Church, Rev. Leonard Hartwig and Mrs. Lydia Garver officiating. Rolland Hall sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Just a Closer Walk with Thee." Mrs. Hall was accompanist. The pallbearers were grandsons of Mrs. Baker, Gale Eaton, Gary Eaton, Larry Johnson, Ronald Perkins, Robert Real and Carel Stith. Interment was in the Fairmont Cemetery.
