The Rev. Vernon L. Wilcox, associate pastor of the Nampa First Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Kohlerlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Cavanah was born Aug. 25, 1894, in Tescott, Kan. He was reared and educated in Kansas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I and spent some of term in France. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Kansas where he farmed. He later moved to Colorado where he met and married Maude T. young on Nov. 29, 1934, in Fruita, Colo. Following their wedding they made their home in Grand Junction, Colo., where he worked in the construction trade.
In 1948 they moved to Nampa and he farmed in the Lone Star area and the Orchard Ridge area until he retired about 25 years ago and they moved into town.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; one son, Leslie Everette Cavanah of Benicia, Calif.; two daughters, Thelma Jordan of Meridian and Barbara Butterfield of Mesa, Idaho; two sisters, Beulah Hector of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Ruth Pennebaker of Garden City, Kan.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters, including Bessie M. Hogan in 1973 and Iva H. Pixley in 1976.
