W. A. Butler, 81, Taken by Death;
Funeral at 5:30 Funeral services for W. A. Butler, 81, who died, early Sunday morning; at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Allen Zilliox, 3748 Ninth Avenue, will be held today at 5:30 pm in the Clayton and Thompson chapel. The Rev. Oscar Perkins, pastor of the Memorial Baptist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in the American Legion plot. Retired KCS Employee A former employee of the Kansas City Southern railroad. Mr Butler retired in 1927. He was a native of Tennessee, and came to Port Arthur from Carson, LA. Surviving besides the daughter are three sons, Robert F Butler of Houston, Roy L Butler of Port Arthur and J D Butler of Beaumont. another daughter Mrs Robert Turner of Little Rock, Ark, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Pallbearers listed: Pallbearers will be F N Hodges, R J Donald, Clyde Pondergrass, Ira Schwartz, L L Lacy, and H R Stewart

Every census except 1930, says he was born in Arkansas. But the Butler family is supposed to be from Tennessee. He was a lumberman in Arkansas and in Louisiana.
