Memorial services for Arlan F. Anderson of Albert Lea will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Albert Lea. The Rev. Clayton Balsley will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea area veterans groups.

Arlan died Monday morning, May 3, 2010, at Albert Lea Medical Center. He was 80 years of age.

Arlan was born July 25, 1929, in Forest City, Iowa, the son of Stanley and Myrtle (Fredrickson) Anderson. He attended public school in Forest City. On Nov. 17, 1950, he was united in marriage to Faye Reim at the Methodist Church in Albert Lea. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951 until 1953 stationed in Germany.
Arlan had been employed by Wilson & Co. Company and after retirement worked at the Green Lea Golf Course mowing the course. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the VFW, the American Legion and the Moose Club. In his free time, Arlan enjoyed camping and bowling.

Arlan is survived by his wife, Faye, of Albert Lea; children: Patti (Chet) Danbon of Fallon, Nev., Peggy (Mike) Squires of Albert Lea, Nancy (John Gladve) Newman of Albert Lea and Keli (Jim) Larson of Austin; grandchildrene: Chad Squires, Todd Toenges, Cally Toenges, Adam Newman, Jordan Johnson and Zach Johnson; great-grandchildren: Jewel and Jenna Toenges, Ty and Piper Ann Toenges, Tori and Stephen Squires and Sydney Newman. There are two sisters surviving: Mavis (Dick) Bryson and Shirley Peterson, both of Albert Lea.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Stan Peterson; and mother-in-law, Mildred Radke.
