Margaret married Daniel Ephraim Cleophus Long in 1881. They had a son Cleophus "Cleo" Burton Long. She found time for other activities as The Nemaha Co. Granger Newspaper for June 11, 1887, had a small note that stated that "Mrs. D.E.C. Long went to Omaha on Thursday as one of the fast horse enthusiasts."
