His sister Thelma was born in 1908, his sister Alma was born in 1910, brother Lawrence was born in 1912, and brother Milton was born in 1914. I have found no evidence that he was of Jewish/German descent, at least not as far back as the mid 1800's when his grandfather was born in the Washington D. C. area and his grandmother and her parents hailed from NY, North Carolina, and Maryland.
