Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. Louise was born on May 20, 1905, near Ava to James H. and Ollie (Smith) Bardmess. She married Luther Rhodes on May 26, 1925, in Chicago, and he preceded her in death on March 30, 1991. Mrs. Rhodes was a homemaker. Louise was a Baptist and attended Christ Community Church. Former assistant pastor John Nordstrom was very faithful in visiting her when she was unable to attend church. Mrs. Rhodes is survived by one son[adopted] and daughter-in-law, Billy and Lillie Rhodes of Chickasha, Okla; one sister-in-law, Edith Foster of Anna; three granddaughters and one grandson; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including one grand niece Romona Koons, who was her caregiver for several years. She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and her parents. She was a good neighbor and wanted to help anyone in need.
