George F. Brakeman, 84, of 2735 Gratiot Avenue, lifelong resident here, died Tuesday in Port Huron Hospital after a long illness. He was born Sept. 27, 1877, in Port Huron.

He was a member of Port Huron Lodge No. 18, Knights of Pythias.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Maybel E. Brakeman; two brothers, Wesley Brakeman, North Street, and Carl Brakeman, East Lansing; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Nelson Brakeman, Marine City, and several nieces and nephews.

The remains are in the Elliot Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. Dr. Carl E. Martenson pastor of the First Congregational Church, and Rev. Harry Brakeman pastor of Mills Memorial Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
