Robert W. High, 86 of Kearney died Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at St. Luke's Good Samaritan Village. He was born June 17, 1923 in Bertrand to Robert and Berniece (Neutzman) High.
On Aug. 17, 1948, he married Dorothy Stevens in Farnam.
Survivors include his son, Chris of Lincoln; daughter, Anne of Kearney; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother-in-law, Keith Fasteneau; and sister-in-law, Doris High.
He graduated from Bertrand High School and later from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 during World War II.
They lived in Kearney, where he worked for banking and insurance firms. He was a member of the church and was an avid fisherman, Nebraska football fan and promoter of Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and son, Robert.
