Parents are Edwin and Permela (Van Slyke) Underwood, both buried in Union Cemetery, Lebanon, Dodge County,Wisconsin. (FAG,GS)

He was married to Lillian Belle Ellicson.

Eugene moved his family from Oakfield, Wisconsin to Iowa sometime 1910-15. They had 10 children: Raymond, Lynn, Florence, Merle, Claude, Edwin, Iva, Russell, Vincent and Marion. Vincent, Russell,and Raymond all buried in New Hampton Cemetery. All children born in Wisconsin except Vincent and Marion who were born Iowa.

Eugene's occupation was farmer. He was buried on 11/20/1942 in Graceland Cemetery in New Hampton, Chickasaw County, Iowa. His son Raymond was listed as the informant on the death certificate.
