Helen M. Haus, 59, of 23608 W. Steinthal Road, Kiel, died early Thursday morning, September 28, 2006 at her home with her loving family at her side after a year long battle with cancer.
She was the former Helen Libke, born December 11, 1946 in the Town of New Holstein, daughter of the late Orville & Dorothy Schreiber Libke. Helen was a 1965 graduate of Kiel High School. On November 6, 1971 she married Keith Haus at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel. She had been employed at Willowdale Nursing & Rehabilitaion Center, New Holstein for 16 years, retiring in November of 2005 due to illness.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, reading, camping, collecting stuffed bears and Elvis memorabilia.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Keith, three daughters: Patricia (Scott) Sohrweide & their children, Kayla & Alex of Chilton, Jennifer (Derek) Gleim, Appleton, Sara (Sam) Conrad & their son Austin of Marytown and two brothers, David Libke, Sheboygan & his daughter, Angie Cook, Gary (Rebecca) Libke, Kiel and their children, Lauren & Reed. She is further survived by her mother-in-law and step father-in-law, Alma & Roy Kelm, New Holstein, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th. St., Kiel with Rev. Marcia Thomas officiating Burial will take place in Eaton Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service. A memorial has been established in her name. Helen’s family would like to thank the Doctors & Staff at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, Affinity Hospice, especially, Rachel Schroeder for the wonderful care given to her and to Rev. Marcia Thomas & Rev. Deana Hamel for their visits & prayers.
